Meet the Herring Cove Animal Hospital Doctors
We strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn’t feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.
Sadie Hutchings, DVM
Sadie Hutchings, DVM did her undergraduate work at UMASS Amherst Commonwealth College, (Summa Cum Laude) in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science. She received her veterinary degree from Tufts Cumming School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Hutchings feels the most rewarding part of her job is improving the lives of senior animals. Her interests include: geriatric care, nutrition, integrative medicine and feline medicine.
One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is the continual education. She loves learning, sharing her knowledge and answering questions. She learns from every patient as she strives to develop the best treatment plan for each individually, which is constantly expanding in the ever growing field of veterinary medicine. She is a member of the AVMA, MVMA, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. She is a member of the Board of Directors and volunteers for the Carrie A Seaman Animal Shelter, the Emergency Animal Shelter for the towns of Provincetown and Truro, and the Auction Rescue. She also volunteers for the Merrimack Feline Rescue Society feral cat spay/neuter program, the MSPCA, and the ASPCA Field Investigation and Response Team.
Outside of work she enjoys riding her horse around Truro and snowboarding.
She resides on a tiny farm where she grew up in Wellfleet with 2 internationally renowned goats, Erskine and Pinto, a handful of terrier mixes, 2 of the greatest cats in the world, parakeets, and very spoiled chickens.
She is very excited about being at Herring Cove Animal Hospital and looks forward to getting to know you and your family!
